Martin Fondse’s warm, dynamic and highly communicative music has been influenced by many sources and inspirations. Always searching for new and open ways of creating music, he establishes a remarkable balance between composition, improvisation, dialogue and personal expression. Martin’s works range from solo pieces to compositions for symphonic orchestras.
He has been awarded several international prizes, ranging from orchestral work to film music.

As a composer/arranger Martin collaborated with artists like Pat Metheny, Terry Bozzio, Peter Erskine, Doudou N'Diaye Rose, Vernon Reid, George Duke, Christina Branco, Eric Vloeimans, Ernst Reijseger, Mariza, Sezen Aksu, Nils Wogram, Gino Vannelli. Furthermore Martin recieved composition commission from orchestras like The Concertgebouw Orkest, Holland Symfonia, Limburgs Symfonisch Orkest, HR Big Band Frankfurt, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, The Meridian Arts Ensemble, Metropole Orkest.
His music has been featured on The North Sea Jazz Festival, Holland Festival, Nederlandse Muziekdagen, Haagse Muziek Driedaagse, November Music, Dutch Jazz Meeting.
Currently he is working with his own pan-european-flex-orchestra Starvinsky Orkestar, the piano duo Key Figures with Wolfert Brederode, a group around Flamenco guitarist Eric Vaarzon Morel and jazz player Jesse van Ruller, as well as performing as a solo player and duo with clarinettist Claudio Puntin.
