When the film ‘the phantom of the cinema’ breaks, the light behind the screen is turned on and we the audience are witness to the life and struggles of?a cinema-owner, the toilet cleaning woman and…the technician.?In a desperate attempt to get the screening going again they tumble and fall through their small chambers located behind the screen. This film is Erik van Schaaiks second movie in what will be a trilogy of films using silhouettes. It started with the much awarded short ‘Vent’.
